An Introduction to the new Creative Studio in Weymouth, Dorset.
Jurassic Coast Records, founded in 2019 by Frazer Mitchell as part of the Antix Music Network, soon became the centre of attention, after their debut release from Charlene Clease leaped to the top of the Amazon Download Charts in November 2019.
In June 2020, Jurassic Coast Records became Jurassic Coast Studios, and opened its doors as a fully equipped creative studio in Weymouth, giving the public an opportunity to get their music produced in a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, with friendly, knowledgeable and experienced engineers and producers.
With a wide range of instruments for all to use, teamed with the latest hardware technology, and industry standard software, all within a 90 second walk to Weymouth Beach, Jurassic Coast Studios is THE place for your next musical project.
We have built excellent working relationships with other related local businesses and individuals, in order to help promote our artists, our brand, and our friends businesses. Here are some of the friends to our recording studio.
Our parent business Antix Music Network, founded in 2012. Antix, based in Yeovil, has been the “go to” business for managing events, stages, music for weddings and other entertainment. With a huge list of varied talent on their roster, from DJs, bands, solo and duo acts, as well as magicians and bouncy castles, Antix is the place to go for your event.
We’ve established a brilliant working relationship with our local community radio station AIR107.2. AIR has supported Jurassic Coast artists with radio play and interviews over the years, and we released a record called Monsters in aid of AIR107.2 and Dorchester County Hospital during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
A grime and hip hop record label and studio, based in Weymouth. Their releases include the hit “What’s The Motive” by Meta and Simpl-city, which was aired on DJ Target’s radio one show.
Back in October 2019, when Jurassic Coast Records began, our debut release from Charlene Clease was written and recorded in support of the pensions injustice group, #WePaidInYouPayOut, a group campaigning against state pension age increase which began with 6 extra years added to 1950s women and continues to rise to this day
The group has held many protests and organised rallys, and continues to be a close friend to Jurassic Coast Studios.
With our premises directly next door to Actors (some of you may remember the old Harry’s!), Actors have become very close friends in recent times. Jurassic Coast Studios were responsible for booking artists and DJs in Actors nightclub, and running their social media and promotions, just before the Coronavirus Pandemic, and will continue to assist Actors in future events.
A key ingredient to a great record label is great relationships with great radio presenters. We are lucky enough to be able to send new music releases from the studio to Radio Ninesprings in Yeovil for radio play on the drive time show, where Ross Owen Williams champions local undiscovered artists - listen from 4-7pm over at Radio Ninesprings.
Founded in 2013, N&J have enjoyed offering legal help to local businesses. The team at Jurassic Coast Studios became friends with the firm when co-founder of N&J Fiona Pawsey started visiting the studio with daughter Lizzie, who has become a regular client of the studio. Since then, N&J have been very helpful with legal matters and practical help in the recent months of trading.
More recently, N&J have become a partner in our artist development scheme, and are aiding us, and our artists, to get the most out of releases, music and video coming from the studio.
